Is anyone getting hungry? As many golf courses as Virginia Beach offers, exponentially there are far too numerous eateries to detail. But, a few come to mind.
For breakfast or lunch, Doc Taylor's, formerly a doctor's office, is a local favorite. Just off the boardwalk, I chose the steak and eggs. Quite filling. Get there early, so you don't have to stand in line too long.
Another, frequented eatery is Citrus Restaurant, just off the Chesapeake Bay, and it too, stays crowded. One of their signature items is an array of pancake styles from blueberry, banana, etc.
Very filling and it features generous portions as you won't leave hungry.
Located inside the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center is their TradeWinds restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not only does it offer the best views in the area of the Chesapeake Bay and beach area, the food ain't bad either. Of course, actually great. Its specialties include fresh local seafood and regional cuisine. The She-Crab soup (cup or bowl) with sherry if requested is to die for.
Lynnhaven Fish House Restaurant is what I would call a room with a view. Lobster, scallops, steak, prime rib, shrimp, etc., a full service bar with an outstanding, courteous, knowledgeable service staff. Acoustically, even with a roomful of guests, it was easy to carry on a pleasant conversation. It is not the cheapest place, however, I feel with the generous well-cooked (to exact specifications) portions one definitely gets their money's worth.
